About the Role...
As a "hands on" experienced and capable Legal Finance/Accounts Manager you'll embrace this opportunity to work closely with the management team and to take ownership of the firm's Finance/Accounting function.
Some of your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:-
- ensure all tax and statutory reporting deadlines are met
- accounts payable, bank reconciliations, general ledger and BAS
- prepare monthly billing reports and attend meetings
- oversee debtor management
- manage and process the payroll function
- maintain office and trust accounts
- liaise with accountants and banks
- prepare budgets and manage cash flow
- maintain responsibility for all firm insurances
- supervise a team of 3 accounts clerks
Skills and experience we'd love...
It is envisaged you will have a minimum of 5 years
accounting experience
preferably gained in the legal industry or in professional services. You will also have:-
- high level and proven understanding of accounting practices
- advanced skills in MS Office
- experience with Accounting & Practice Management systems, ideally Affinity
- working knowledge of trust accounting rules & regulations
- the ability to foster teamwork & provide leadership
